On behalf of Exeter United, we think that is good to see national recognition about the levels of racism in grassroots football. Our players have been saying this for years. The extent and nature of the discrimination can be shocking and difficult to understand until you witness it regularly. However this is not about scapegoating individuals. We need education and awareness for everyone to slowly change the culture.
The case in the media is finished as far as we are concerned. It has been dealt with well by the FA and D&E League and hopefully everyone involved can learn and move on. The bigger picture is that clubs, officials, leagues and FA's need to work closely with grassroots to listen, to understand the problems and find constructive solutions. We are looking forward to next season and taking part in the sport we all love Dr Suaad George Chair, Exeter United FC Recent news items - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47968008 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/apr/12/racism-english-football-parks-premier-league-special-investigation
